On hiatus from novel, I was recently introduced to a Drabble – a short story of exactly 100 words. I posted my attempt on my blog, although I wasn’t happy with the results. 100 words is nothing: mere spittle. A dribble of words not worth counting. A drag. Encouraged (or deluded?) by kind comments, I sent it off to a publication that specializes in short shorts. Result! They liked it and are going to publish it in their magazine. Yay. I don’t know if there is a lesson in this. I guess you never know, even when dealing with drivel.

(by the way, the above text is 100 words exactly. Ha ha)
